Vaasan Voima’s goal is to use new sources of electricity production to connect the energy needs of different industries and it will do this by developing solutions based on new electricity, for example, in heat generation. Electric boilers are one important component of the clean heat production system of the future.
Currently, Vaasan Voima has three electric boilers.
In 2020, a large thermal energy storage (TES) facility with 100 MW of charge and discharge capacity was put into operation in Vaskiluoto, Vaasa. It will diversify the region’s thermal energy generation both now and in the future.
In the fall of 2023, the expansion of the thermal energy storage was taken into use.
